It's brewed with a blend of 5 different barley's and has a warm orange hue and malty flavor which supports an aggressive blend of hops including Hallertau, Cascade and the new Summit Hop from Washington. Look for an assertive bitter body and complex aroma with notes of grapefruit and spice. | It's with great pleasure that I get to write this blog as it only means one thing, Press 195 Brooklyn is back!! We are very excited to introduce our brand new 6 beer draught system and specialty bottle list. Both the taps and bottles will be continually rotated in order to bring to you fine beers from around the world. To start Version 2.0 of Press 195 we are offering the following:
ON DRAFT Outrage IPA (Garrattsville, NY): Brewed by our close friend and loyal Bayside Press 195 customer, Kenny Landin, in conjunction with our friends at Butternuts Brewery, this is the very first release from Landin ales. A nice floral hop with a crisp finish, this is a fine example of an American India Pale Ale. 6% abv Radeberger Pilsner (Germany): Long enjoyed by German nobility, this is the world’s most famous pilsner. One sip and you will know why! Super refreshing and very smooth! 4.7% abv Harpoon UFO (Boston): Light, crisp, refreshing UFO White follows in the tradition of spiced wheat beers that have been brewed in Belgium for well over 300 years. Brewed with orange peel and a unique blend of spices, Served with a lemon to complement the citrus flavors, this is one fine beer, 5% abv Blue Point Spring Ale (Patchogue): A local favorite! Alas Spring is here and that only means a new seasonal from our friends at Blue Point. This is a copper ale with hints of rye, citrus and hop overtones. A great thirst quencher. Try one, bet you’ll have another! 6% abv Keegan’s Mother’s Milk (Kingston, NY): From our good friend Tom Keegan comes this fantastic beer. As the name implies, this is a dark and creamy milk stout. Hints of oatmeal, chocolate and of course milk, give this stout a remarkably smooth finish. 5.5% abv Stone Levitation (CA): A truly fantastic session ale! This deep amber ale has rich & roasted malt flavors, a big hoppy character, citrus overtones (courtesy of the hops and special brewers yeast) and modest alcohol. 4.4% abv
BOTTLES Delirium Tremens (Belgium): STRONG Belgian Ale! The particular character and the unique taste results from the use of three different yeasts. A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago confirmed it’s worldwide recognition. 12oz. 9% abv Ommegang Abbey Ale (NY): A classic STRONG Belgian style Abbey ale. With a deep burgundy color and a big, fluffy head, this has complex fruit aromas. A fantastic ode to true Belgian beers! 25.4oz 8.5% abv Weihenstephan Hefe-Weiss (Germany): From THE oldest commercial brewery, this is a wonderful example of what unfiltered wheat beer should be. Smooth and easy to drink. 16.9oz 5.4% abv Flying Dog Garde Dog (Maryland): Smooth, crisp and golden in color, this is a Spring French classic brewed with an American twist. With it’s toasted aroma and spicy, malty sweetness, Garde dog will liberate you from the winter doldrums! 12oz. 5.5% abv Hofbrau Dunkel (Germany): For centuries Munich’s favorite beer. A dark lager that has a light body and is easy to drink, with simple roasted malt flavor and slight caramel undertones. 12oz. 5.5% abv Houblon Chouffe Dobbelen IPA Tripel (Belgium): STRONG ALE! First brewed in 2006, this is a rare, special beer with a harmonious balance between a marked bitterness (three types of hops are used) and a pleasant fruitiness. The HOUBLON CHOUFFE is unfiltered, and re-fermented in the bottle. Our pick of the week!!! 25.4oz 9% abv Stone IPA (CA): “Dry hopped” for an extra 2 weeks, this unique process produces an IPA with a great hop aroma and flavor. 22oz 6.9% abv Belhaven Wee Heavy (Scotland): A classic Scottish heavy ale with a light flavor and a great reddish color in the glass. This is a beer that should be sipped and savored. 16.9 oz. 6.5% abv Arrogant bastard Ale (CA): This is an aggressive beer. | January 17th, 2009. At the Bayside store, things are moving ahead well. We are slowly introducing new menu items that will soon appear as a permanent fixture on a new menu that will be unveiled with the grand re-opening of our original location in Park Slope. The newest sandwich to hit the specials age is the ultimate Buffalo sandwich, the killer Chicken Finger Sub. But, we kick it Press 195 style and serve homemade spicy fingers (never frozen unlike our competition) with real crumbled blue cheese and julienned carrots and celery for an extra cruch. Guaranteed hall of fame sandwich! At our Brooklyn store, renovation has taken a contractors week hitch, as the store is fully gutted but awaiting a garbage waste dump to clear the rubble. However, plumbing and electrical is complete in the basement so we are anticipating work to begin again tomorrow 1/19. Thanks! Brian |
