A SANDWICH A DAY: BLACK BEAN HUMMUS AND GRILLED CHICKEN AT PRESS 195 BY HANNAH SMITH-DRELICH OF NEW YORK SERIOUS EATS

Think about a sandwich with spicy grilled chicken, a few perky leaves of cilantro, and tiny slivers of red onion. Then, think about a totally different sandwich inspired by one of those Super Bowl-style refried bean dips, with very beany black bean hummus and a layer of cheddar cheese. Then, if your imagination can handle it, imagine those two species of panini joined under the roof of one ciabatta. That's something like the #18 ($9.00) from the "Sandwich Kings" at Press 195.

If you're not into anything bean dip-related, check out Press 195's sandwiches pressed between two potato knishes, or the Banana Bread Press ($10) with sliced bananas, strawberries, ice cream, and candied walnuts. That's taking sandwiches to a whole new genus.
