MISSION:
Brian, Chris and Jimmy want you to experience what comfort dining should be: fresh ingredients, home-cooked goodness, and an extensive craft beer list along with a creative wine and cocktail menu. Serving lunch, dinner and late-night snacks seven days a week, Press 195 offers a comfortable, relaxed, friendly environment that will make you feel at home.
HISTORY:
Brian Karp (chef/owner), Chris Evans (director/owner) and Jimmy Volz (director/owner) always had a passion for comfort food. After several years of toiling in the corporate world -- and several late-night brainstorming sessions over too much coffee and beer -- they decided to return to their restaurant roots. Press 195 was born.
Brian has come a long way from experimenting with food combinations in his mother's toaster. He first tasted the insanity and excitement of a bustling kitchen at the tender of 14. A seed was planted. Brian cooked professionally in Buffalo, NY and in New York City, then took a 10-year departure into the Internet world. His simple, creative cooking sense is accentuated with his love of fresh Hudson Valley ingredients.

Chris is a savvy business owner and entrepreneur. He met Brian in college at SUNY Buffalo, where they bonded over an affinity for good music and good food. His sunny people skills and creative business spirit resulted in a profitable sporting goods retail store, Scores Specialty Sports. He also successfully coached a competitive Division 1 soccer team for several years. Chris is known for whipping up a spontaneous feast for a large group of friends.
An entrepreneur at an early age, Jimmy has always had the drive for success. Right out of school, he was off and running. After 15 years as owner of a successful commercial dairy route that supplied countless restaurants in Queens and Long Island, he shifted gears and decided to take his love of wine to a professional level by joining Peerless Wine Importers. 6 years later Jimmy felt it was time to take his wine knowledge and combine it with the fast-paced action of the food industry that he sorely missed. As timing is always key, it was at this moment his childhood friend, Chris Evans, was seeking to expand Press 195, and the story wrote itself.
Brian, Chris and Jimmy possess easy-going demeanors and curious appetites. Their dream restaurant always centered on comfort dining: a laid-back environment with simple comfort foods and quality beverages. Welcome to Press 195. Stop in, grab a bite, kick back and relax.
