Oh, the
things
you can
do with
a George
Foreman
grill.
The
panini,
which is
possibly
the best
invention
since
sliced
bread,
takes
said
bread
and
turns it
into a
thing of
wonders.
I say,
why have
a tall
dignified
sandwich
when you
can
smush
the
thing
flat and
get a
crispy
crust
and hot,
gooey
insides?
The
#13 Hot
Press
($8) at

is a
simple
enough
caprese
sandwich
with
fresh
mozzarella,
tomato,
and
basil. Simple,
but
there's
nothing
wrong
with
simple.
The
brittle
outside
crust
and
melted
mozzarella
make it
every
inch a
joy,
although
I did
find the
"famous
pure
maple
basil
pesto,"
almost
too
sweet.
Maple
syrup
and
garlic?
Perhaps
I am too
simple
to
appreciate
such
sophistication.
